Actor Jack Wade (played by Quentin Jones) has a dark past unknown to others. Decades ago, his family was murdered in a small cabin in the mountains of Nevada, leaving Jack as the sole survivor. Many years later, he marries former Hollywood studio manager Frankie (played by Kathrine Bates). To outsiders, Jack appears to be a hardworking actor and a model husband, but only he knows the pain of living with the domineering and overbearing Frankie. Later, Frankie falls into a coma and Jack's finances drain away, leaving him unable to cope. He takes his comatose wife back to the cabin in the mountains, where he cares for her alone. However, in the house where the massacre took place, Jack's mind begins to unravel, and unable to endure it all, he decides to end his wife's life...
