Young couple Burton (played by Peter Horton) and Vicky (played by Linda Hamilton) are traveling through Gatlin, Nebraska when they discover a child's corpse on the road. To report it to the police, they drive into Gatlin, only to find the situation in the town to be even more bizarre: it seems to be a kingdom for children, with all the adults missing. The children all obey a boy named Isaac (played by John Franklin), who claims to be a messenger of God. What has happened to the adults in the town? What secrets lie behind the malicious eyes of the children? Will Burton and Vicky be able to escape the town alive? The film won the Best Fantasy Film Award at the 1984 Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.
