The story takes place during the period of major reforms in the Soviet Union. Bobo is a passionate single boy who loves ballet, and his enthusiasm for dancing is unmatched. Jumping, on tiptoe, and even spinning continuously, nothing seems to challenge him; however, his small stature prevents him from lifting the heroine high, causing him to lose performance opportunities. Believing that his father is the ballet king "Baryshnikov," Bobo is convinced that he carries the bloodline of a Soviet ballet family and that he will one day become the principal dancer of the Bolshoi Theatre. One day before a performance, the lead male dancer is injured—does Bobo finally have his big opportunity? Will he fulfill his dream of stepping onto the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre?
