The unknown rakugo artist Yutaro (played by Ohizumi Yo) finds his greatest happiness in knowing his beautiful and kind wife Saya (played by Aragaki Yui). Although life is tough, with the birth of their son Yusuke, they seem to be sailing toward a happy future. However, fate is unpredictable, and Yutaro dies in a car accident. Due to his deep attachment to his wife and child, he does not move on but lingers around Saya in a ghostly state. At the funeral, Yutaro’s father (played by Ishibashi Ryo), who has been estranged from him for a long time, suddenly appears, and in a moment of panic, Yutaro possesses his master’s body to advise Saya to escape quickly. In a state of confusion, Saya takes her child to a remote town called Sasakara. There, she encounters various vividly characterized individuals, while Yutaro repeatedly possesses others to return to his wife and child. What does the future hold for the mother and daughter? This film is adapted from Tamako Kana's novel "Saya from Sasakara".
