Knut, the little polar bear from Berlin Zoo in Germany, is currently the city's most beloved creature. In a recent voting event held by a television station, he was elected as “the most important resident of Berlin” by a large margin. The clever and adorable Knut attracts countless visitors every day. As soon as the little polar bear appeared, he showcased a dazzling star presence and instantly became the pride of Berlin Zoo. This cute little polar bear has had a tragic fate. In December last year, after giving birth to Knut and his twin brother, their mother abandoned them in the cave. Knut's brother died shortly after, but little Knut was luckily rescued by the caregivers. Since then, Knut's life has changed dramatically; he drinks milk, takes fish oil, is fed chicken soup, and sleeps cuddling a teddy bear. However, this pampered situation has drawn criticism from some animal rights activists. They believe that such treatment could harm the natural instincts of wild animals. Some even proposed that Knut should be euthanized with a lethal injection. However, looking into little Knut’s innocent big eyes, no one had the heart to go through with it. Ultimately, Berlin Zoo decided to keep Knut. The director of Berlin Zoo stated that global warming, combined with frequent human activities in the Arctic, poses a severe threat to the survival of polar bears. Scientists predict that if things continue this way, polar bears will be extinct within 100 years. Therefore, adorable little Knut appears to be even more precious. The documentary "Knut und seine Freunde" tells the story of how little polar bear Knut conquered the world.
