The girl Xiao San (played by Wang Yuya) lives in a fishing port. At the age of 17, her mother took her to a fortune teller, and six fortune tellers claimed she was the reincarnation of Liang Shanbo, also stating that she would face a great disaster at 25, which could only be averted by encountering a benefactor. Carefree Xiao San didn't mind much; she has a boyfriend named Ah Bin who is a boat runner. Xiaoying (played by Lin Yichen) is Xiao San's distant cousin whom she hasn't seen for many years. She has always strongly believed she is Xiaoying Tai, and Xiao San is Liang Shanbo. Growing up in an abusive household, Xiaoying works at Xiao San's house to earn money to help her father pay off debts, while unexpressed feelings grow between them. Loyal and straightforward, Xiao San agrees to participate in a risky gambling venture at the port to resolve a friend's conflict, and wins by chance. On a rainy night, Xiaoying, unable to hold back her feelings, confesses to Xiao San, who is taken aback and realizes she does not love her, pushing her away. However, a series of violent events ensue, with Xiaoying getting captured and Xiao San getting hurt. The gang confronts Xiao San again about gambling at the port, but this time things don’t go as smoothly. In this life and the last, can Liang Shanbo protect his Zhu Yingtai?
