In Melbourne, Australia, Chinese chef Jackie (played by Jackie Chan) is a well-known figure who regularly hosts a cooking show on television. The drug lord Kim Carlo (played by Richard Norton) leads a powerful group and is known for his brutal and cold demeanor. After eliminating undercover agents from rival gangs, he and his crew engage in a fierce gun battle with the opponents at a warehouse, which is captured on camera by reporter Diana (played by Gabrielle Fitzpatrick). While escaping the pursuing drug cartel, Diana serendipitously encounters Jackie, who gallantly helps distract the assailants for her. However, when they part ways, Diana mistakenly takes Jackie’s recording tape as evidence. The drug cartel soon discovers Diana's residence, and after failing to find her, they shift their focus to Jackie. Jackie’s girlfriend, Meiqi (played by Li Tingyi), arrives from afar to attend Jackie’s show recording. The drug cartel surrounds the recording site to capture Jackie, leading to a tough street battle, but Jackie eventually escapes. Meanwhile, Kim Carlo’s rival gang kidnaps Meiqi and threatens Jackie to exchange the tape for her, resulting in a chaotic struggle involving Jackie, the police, and the two criminal groups centered around the tape.
