Ilia Yelishko (played by Kseniya Rappoport), with a shadowy past, comes from Ukraine to Velaz, Italy. She rents a shabby, rundown room, requesting work from the janitor of the opposite apartment, even willing to share part of her salary with him. After this, she meets Gina (played by Piera Degli Esposti), a maid in a three-person family living in the same apartment, and goes to great lengths to inquire about the Andzel family, even stealing their house keys. In her pursuit to enter the Andzel home, Ilia resorts to any means necessary. She seems to be searching for something, yet appears to be avoiding something at the same time. All of this seems tightly connected to Ilia's past... This film won the Audience Award for Best Film at the 2007 European Film Festival; and five David di Donatello Awards in 2007 for Best Director, Best Film, Best Actress (Kseniya Rappoport), Best Score, and Best Cinematography.
