The film is adapted from Agatha Christie's novel "Hallowe'en Party," set in post-World War II Venice on a peculiar Halloween eve. Retired famous detective Hercule Poirot (played by Kenneth Branagh) is living a quiet and content life in the world's most enchanting city, Venice, when he is reluctantly invited to a decayed and eerie palace for a gathering. After one of the guests is murdered, Poirot is drawn into a sinister world filled with shadows and secrets.
