In 1956, 19-year-old Bobby Charlton (played by Jack O'Connell) received his first team debut at Manchester United with the help of assistant coach Jimmy Murphy (played by David Tennant). At that time, Manchester United, managed by coach Matt Busby (played by Dougray Scott), was brimming with talent and had many gifted players, known as "Busby's Babes." Among them were promising stars like Mark Jones, Duncan Edwards (played by Sam Claflin), and Eddie Colman. After playing an away match in the European Champions League against Bayern Munich in Germany, Manchester United was set to rush back to the UK for a league game. Despite repeated requests from Busby, the FA consistently refused to postpone Manchester United's league match, forcing the team to fly back to Britain immediately after the game in Germany. A snowstorm in Germany caused multiple flight delays, and after the plane made one final attempt, tragedy struck... This is the story of the "Munich Air Disaster," where many talented players lost their lives. How will Bobby Charlton and coach Busby lead Manchester United to rebirth? This film is a BBC television movie.
