In 1975, Warsaw. 43-year-old Kapuscinski is an outstanding journalist, experienced and full of ideals, a defender of revolution and the people's interests. At a news agency in Poland, he requests his superiors to send him to Angola in Africa. This country is on the brink of a bloody civil war on the eve of independence. Thus, Kapuscinski embarks on a suicidal journey straight to the heart of war. He confronts the brutality of war once again, and for the first time, he feels a sense of helplessness. Angola brings him an unprecedented change: he was a journalist in Poland, but after returning from the battlefield, he becomes a writer.
