During the Republic of China, Miss Pan Xiyue (played by Jin Ning) is plagued by demons and, in desperation, invites the Daoist Master Yin Tianqiu (played by Cui Dongchen) to perform rituals to drive away the demons. He deceives the fox demon by marrying her off to a paper effigy.
