The film is divided into two stories, all adapted from the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Jessica (played by Adrienne Barbeau) has a husband, Ernest (played by Bingo O'Malley), who is terminally ill. Psychiatrist Robert (played by Ramy Zada) has an affair with Jessica. Together, they conspire to have Ernest leave millions of inheritance to his wife. The couple ultimately gets what they want, but the vengeful Ernest resurrects to seek revenge... Photographer Rod (played by Harvey Keitel) has a girlfriend, Annabelle (played by Madeleine Potter), who brings home a stray black cat. The cat's cries are unbearable for the already irritable Rod. In a fit of rage, he kills the black cat, only to find himself plunging into a dark and terrifying nightmare...
