Directed by Federico Fellini, "Orchestra Rehearsal" captures the rehearsal of a symphony orchestra, ironically presenting a kaleidoscope of situational atmospheres where everything exists except the harmony and joy typically expected from a symphony orchestra. The frictions and disagreements among the members symbolize the norm of human society. In the film, the conductor becomes a kind of 'god-like' figure as Fellini examines the various emotions of the musicians, turning the interactions of characters in this unique setting into a microcosm of human society. The music in the film is composed by Fellini's long-time collaborator, Italian composer Nino Rota, whose work adds considerable color to the film.
