Aunt Wang is a lively and warm-hearted elderly lady living in the alleys of Beijing. She dreamed of becoming a car driver when she was young, and this has remained a knot in her heart until her retirement. One morning, Aunt Wang rode her tricycle to take her granddaughter Juanzi to school, and the cyclists were astonished to see this elderly lady on a tricycle. Aunt Wang huffed and puffed as she parked her tricycle at the school gate, and her granddaughter Juanzi managed to arrive on time, but this reignited her desire to learn to drive. During a family outing, Aunt Wang convinced her son Wang Xiaobao to let her sit in the driver's seat of the car, but in her nervousness, she mistook the accelerator for the brake, chasing her family as they scattered in all directions. This experience made Aunt Wang lament that at her age, she shouldn't learn to drive, but to her surprise, she learned from her granddaughter that the age limit for driving lessons had been raised to seventy. She immediately expressed her eagerness to learn. However, her husband, Grandpa Wang, firmly opposed her decision to learn driving. Her son was also worried that his elderly mother might exhaust herself trying to learn to drive, and he expressed opposition as well. One day, Aunt Wang tricked her husband, who had been guarding the house all day, and secretly signed up at a driving school. On her way back from the driving school, she was attracted by a flashy hair salon and walked in. Encouraged by the hairstylists and beauticians, she dyed her hair, got her nails done, and even had a facial. Finally, she bought a pair of jeans from a nearby clothing store. With her newly dyed black hair, dressed in jeans and sporting sneakers, Aunt Wang hummed "Left hand a chicken, right hand a duck" happily as she returned home. The traffic regulations exam went fairly smoothly, but the on-road practice proved to be much more challenging. On the day of the driving test, she almost crashed into a wall, and feeling downcast, Aunt Wang thought about giving up. She carefully folded her jeans and put them away in the closet. However, that night, because she had hit a car, the driving instructor who had been expelled from the school secretly came to Aunt Wang's house and smashed her window. Aunt Wang went to the driving school to plead for the instructor, which also earned her a second chance at the exam. This time, under the instructor's careful guidance, Aunt Wang passed the exam successfully.
