The film is based on a true story. Jack Abramoff is the so-called "political machine"; although he is not a politician himself, he is well-versed in politics. Since his university days, Jack has been a political enthusiast, ambitiously supporting Reagan's presidential campaign. Decades later, Jack Abramoff began his opportunistic career as a lobbyist, utilizing his relationships with high-ranking government officials to open numerous casinos. Surrounding his "business," Jack Abramoff is accompanied by a variety of people. Among them, Michael Scanlon is his favorite business partner. Driven by greed and money, Jack starts to manipulate casinos through his network, encroach on Native American lands, and gradually extends his reach into more sensitive areas: Russian spies, turning third-world countries into "factories" and "dumping grounds" for developed countries... and even some premeditated murders. However, Jack's political career did not last long, as his notorious misdeeds were soon exposed. The exposure was ironically initiated by a report from within the Republican Party that listed Jack’s various crimes. He was imprisoned, becoming a convict. Of course, several of his business partners and high-ranking White House officials fell along with him.
