Yuki and Ai are a couple who have been together for a long time but are still in the closet. Their romance began in a bar: Yuki comforted Ai, who was having a tough time at work, by starting a conversation about cake flavors, only to discover their tastes are completely different. What sparks will fly when the rich bitterness of matcha meets the sweet romance of vanilla? After Yuki is diagnosed with terminal cancer, how will the two of them face the pressures from family, hospitals, and society together in Japan's traditionally conservative culture while staying by each other's side? The director Hamish Downie is an Australian screenwriter working in Japan, whose short film An American Piano (2014) has won numerous awards. This time, he invited the experienced stage actress Kudo Qyoko to participate and collaborated with an award-winning production team for their first feature film, aiming to support the promotion of marriage equality for the LGBTQ+ community in Japan.
