In the 1970s, an Iranian girl named Hera studied in Romania, where she met a classmate named Maria. After the revolution against the monarchy broke out in 1979, Hera returned home with hopes for political change and never left again. Over the next several decades, Hera and Maria exchanged their views on politics, society, and life through letters, until Romania also experienced the great changes in Eastern Europe. Between the two revolutions lies a spiritual romance transcending time and space between two women.
