This film is adapted from the bestselling book of the same name. Taiwan youth Zhang Shuhao (played by Zhang Shuhao) faces the death of his brother during his senior year of college and is in a period of confusion. He unexpectedly discovers his brother's cycling journal. This non-cyclist youth develops the idea of cycling along the Yunnan-Tibet route to fulfill his brother's uncompleted wish. After experiencing the departure of his girlfriend, he sets off to Lijiang. Along the way, Zhang Shuhao meets cyclist Li Xiaochuan (played by Li Xiaochuan) from Yunnan, and they travel together to Lhasa. On the fifth day, they arrive in Deqin, where Li Xiaochuan is devastated to miss seeing the Meili 13 Peaks shrouded in mist; on the sixth day, they stay at a Tibetan home in Yanjing, where Shuhao bids a heartfelt farewell to the simple Tibetan people; on the seventh day, they struggle along the mountain road in Quzika, and Li Xiaochuan accidentally falls off a cliff and sustains serious injuries. The Yunnan-Tibet route is particularly perilous in winter, and Zhang Shuhao must continue the journey alone...
