British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) embarks on a deep exploration of the mysterious Amazon jungle in South America, where he unexpectedly discovers signs of an unknown civilization. Upon his return to Britain to reveal this significant finding, he is ridiculed and treated as a joke, with no one willing to believe him. With the unwavering support of his wife Nina (Sienna Miller), Fawcett is determined to lead his son Jack (Tom Holland) back into the Amazon jungle to find evidence of the ancient civilization, but the group mysteriously disappears, never to be heard from again, becoming one of the most mysterious and suspenseful missing person cases in history.
