In December 1934, while the Central Red Army was passing through Tongdao during the Long March, a crucial meeting was held, known as the "Tongdao Conference." Following the spirit of the Tongdao Conference, the Central Military Commission abandoned its original plan to advance north to meet with the Red Second and Sixth Armies in Xiangxi, and instead marched toward Guizhou, where the enemy was weaker, thwarting Chiang Kai-shek's attempt to annihilate the Red Army in Xiangxi. The Tongdao Conference saved the Party, saved the Red Army, and saved the Chinese Revolution at a critical moment, creating a key precondition for the successful convening of the Zunyi Conference. The film portrays the "Tongdao Conference," which facilitated the shift in the Red Army's strategic approach. From the Tongdao Conference onward, Mao Zedong's core idea of seeking truth from facts gradually gained acceptance within the Party. The release of this film on the 90th anniversary of the Party's founding has profound practical significance.
