By the banks of the Kamo River, Tora-san (played by Kiyoshi Atsumi) helps an elderly man who is in a bind due to a broken strap on his geta. As a result, he is invited to the man's home. The elderly man is a very famous potter, and at his home, Tora-san meets a maid named Kaga-ri (played by Ryoko Ishida). Kaga-ri's husband passed away when they were young, and she entrusted her child to her mother living in the Tango Peninsula while she came to Kyoto to work alone. Originally, Kaga-ri was supposed to marry one of the potter's apprentices, but her rigid personality was unbearable for him, and he ended up marrying someone else. Heartbroken, Kaga-ri decides to return to the Tango Peninsula. When Tora-san learns of this, he decides to go there to comfort her. Just before leaving, Tora-san's feelings for Kaga-ri suddenly surge within him. Is his spring finally arriving this time?
