Navy Lieutenant Ted Jackson is a frogman living a double life as a deep-sea mine clearance diver and a bar singer. One day, Ted discovers a sunken ship full of Spanish silver coins and decides to lead his friends Jo and Judd on a treasure hunt. However, the cunning playboy Gil Carey is also searching for the same treasure, creating rifts between Ted and his old friend, Captain Jack, who rents out diving equipment, and using his girlfriend Dina to sabotage Ted's plans. Can Ted succeed? This film is Elvis's 23rd movie, ranking 50th on Variety's 1967 nationwide box office list. Elvis performs six songs in it, none of which are ballads. This also marks the first time Elvis appeared on the big screen. The film's soundtrack only sold 30,000 copies, making it the lowest-selling album for Elvis under RCA.
