Camellia (played by Lim Soo-jung) and Honglian (played by Moon Geun-young) are a pair of beautiful sisters. One sunny afternoon, they are driven by their father to a villa in the suburbs. However, they develop a strong aversion towards their stepmother living there. Honglian sees ghosts at night, and the pet birds kept by their stepmother are poisoned, but in Camellia's eyes, the stepmother is always trying to harm her and Honglian. While Camellia understands the need to protect herself, her younger sister Honglian does not yet know how to resist, so Camellia fiercely defends her sister's interests. Yet, their father constantly blames her, not realizing that the whole situation is the doing of the stepmother.
