In this episode, Tora-san volunteers to play matchmaker, attempting to pair up the naive young man Ryosuke with the pure-hearted girl Sachiko. With his rich "love experience," Tora-san tries to advise Ryosuke and offers various "pick-up" strategies. Unfortunately, Tora-san's methods are outdated, leading Ryosuke to face numerous setbacks. Ultimately heartbroken, he attempts to end his life by setting himself on fire in Tora's home… Surviving against the odds, a dispirited Ryosuke returns to his hometown of Nagasaki, only to find Tora-san has reappeared, and he encounters Ryosuke's divorced sister Fujiko, causing Tora-san to fall in love once again…
