The Raghati family and the Sanila family are the two major families in Gujarat engaged in the firearms business, and due to their longstanding feud, the relationship between the two families can be described as irreconcilable. Rama (played by Ranveer Singh) is born into the Raghati family; although he spends his days surrounded by guns and bullets, Rama is actually a very kind and peace-loving man. Leela (played by Deepika Padukone) is the youngest daughter of the Sanila family, possessing stunning beauty and a bold personality unafraid to love passionately. One day, Rama encounters Leela by chance, and a spark of love quickly ignites between the handsome man and the beautiful woman. However, they both know that their relationship is doomed to be disallowed by the natural order. In order to stay together, this couple decides to elope.
