Cristian Pandero is a young university lecturer and a hotshot prosecutor, being trained by his boss for a quick promotion. Pandero serves as a professional pawn in a complex corruption case, the defendant being Bogdan Laica (played by Alin Florea), a prosecutor previously involved in smuggling allegations against a prominent political dynasty. However, he soon begins to have doubts about the case, suspecting that he is being used as a pawn in a dark power game orchestrated by security services and dishonest insiders within the government. Pandero is an idealist with strong moral beliefs, but he is also a ruthless playboy, deceiving his partner Dora (played by Andreea Vasiliu) and his female students. When he withdraws from Laica's case on principle, he is frozen out of his job, hit with fabricated criminal charges, and threatened with vague blackmail over his colorful private life. Paranoid, he suspects that everyone around him is a spy or a traitor. His lone stand against injustice tragically comes to an end.
