Six children from five countries, including the UK, China, and the USA, have arrived in Chibi Maruko-chan’s (voiced by Tarako) hometown of Shimizu City. Andrea (voiced by Taishi Nakagawa) from Italy is temporarily staying at Maruko's house. Maruko and her friends attend classes with the foreign kids and also travel to Osaka and Kyoto together on weekends. At first, Maruko feels overwhelmed by Andrea's enthusiasm, but after learning the reason for his trip to Japan, she begins to get along with him. They visit a temple fair together and make a wish to "meet again someday." However, these joyful days are coming to an end as they must face the time of parting.
