The story takes place 30 years after the great blackout. Replicant K (Ryan Gosling) is a new-generation Blade Runner, and in the current world, the division between humans and replicants has become more pronounced; replicants are instilled with the mindset to serve humans from the moment they are created and are absolutely forbidden from developing human emotions. One day, the remains of a female replicant are unearthed, shocking Lieutenant Joshi (Robin Wright), who learns that this female replicant not only had been pregnant but also gave birth, and the existence of this child could completely disrupt the rules and order the government has painstakingly maintained. Joshi orders K to find this child and eliminate them. In an abandoned farm, K discovers some clues, which intriguingly correlate with the implanted memories of his past. Meanwhile, Niander Wallace (Jared Leto) and his assistant Luv (Sylvia Hoeks) are also in search of this child's whereabouts.
