Influenced by his family's legacy, Anthony aspires to become an honorable soldier who achieves great feats on the battlefield. After undergoing countless brutal training sessions, he is finally deployed to the 2nd Battalion of the 7th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, officially entering the Middle Eastern combat zone. Filled with ambition, Anthony soon discovers that the brutality of war is far beyond his expectations. During this period, he deals with the infidelity of his girlfriend back home, while fear, emptiness, and oppression constantly torment his nerves, leading him to reflect on the true meaning of war amidst his inner turmoil and contradictions…This film is adapted from the bestselling book by former U.S. Marine Anthony Swofford published in 2003 and won the Special Award from the San Diego Film Critics Society in 2005.
