The inheritor of traditional folklore, Masakazu Isshiki (played by Masato Sakai), marries his devoted young editor Akiko (played by Mitsuki Takahata). As newlyweds, the couple, deeply affectionate, returns to Isshiki's birthplace, Kamakura. Shortly after arriving in Kamakura, the naive Akiko is startled by a kappa that walks by. It turns out that Kamakura has long been a city rich in supernatural energy, where yokai and spirits appear without hesitation; locals are accustomed to these phenomena and coexist peacefully with the unusual.
