Miriam (Martina Gedeck) has a happy family, characterized by mutual trust and closeness with her husband Andrew (Peter Davor); she shares a deep understanding and open communication with her son Nils (Lucas Kotarani). One day, Nils brings home his girlfriend Livia (Svea Lohde) for a vacation, and soon Miriam suspects that Livia has an intimate relationship with a man named Bill (Robert Seeliger) that goes beyond friendship. Driven by curiosity, Miriam approaches Bill, only to find herself attracted to his graceful demeanor, which complicates her relationship with Livia as they become rivals in love.
