A gentle young man returns to work every day, making calls to debtors around the clock and kindly reminding them to pay back their debts. He unexpectedly encounters his female boss on the company rooftop, breaking through hierarchical barriers as they support each other in the stifling monotony of daily life. The boss's daughter, majoring in philosophy, faces mockery during her job search. When the young man goes to collect a debt, an uncontrollable tragedy unfolds, challenging his integrity and revealing the depths of human nature. If black and white represent conscience, how can the young man maintain himself amid the tumult of the secular world? Is there light at the end of the darkness? Former teacher Shin Soo-youn, after “Pluto Defense War,” once again focuses on the confusion and helplessness of the new generation in South Korea, highlighting the indifference and decline of a pathological society.
