Set in 1950s London, Reynolds (played by Daniel Day-Lewis) and his sister Cyril (played by Lesley Manville) run a dressmaking business called "House of Woodcock." Wearing a gown personally crafted by Reynolds is the aspiration of every aristocrat and celebrity in London’s high society. One day, Reynolds meets a waitress named Alma (played by Vicky Krieps) at a restaurant, and they fall in love at first sight. Reynolds introduces Alma to a colorful world, but she finds herself continuously captivated by his character. In daily life, Reynolds proves to be a particularly difficult and finicky person, leading to frequent conflicts between him and Alma. As Reynolds becomes increasingly indifferent, Alma realizes she must take action to defend her love.
