The War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea has entered its most critical decisive phase. During negotiations at Panmunjom, the U.S. military secretly amassed a large number of troops and launched a surprise attack. The goal of the U.S. military was clear: to capture Shangganling as a stronghold to further seize Mount Wusheng, thereby increasing their leverage in negotiations. The Chinese People's Volunteer Army's Eighth Company stood guard at Shangganling. Faced with an enemy force far superior in numbers, the Volunteers did not retreat but chose to resist tenaciously, delaying the U.S. military's advance and thwarting their conspiracy. Under the leadership of Company Commander Zhang Zhongfa (played by Gao Baocheng), the unit fought fiercely against the U.S. military. Despite the harsh conditions in the tunnels and the danger of running out of water and food, the Volunteers held their ground for 24 days, laying a solid foundation for the counteroffensive of the Sino-Korean Allied Forces.
