This historical drama showcases the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. The focus of the film is on Officer Ishar Singh, who was stationed at one of the three forts in the Shivalik range of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region along the Indian-Afghan border. He was transferred to the Saragarhi fort, which served as a communication relay station, for disobeying a superior’s orders to rescue an Afghan girl from religious militants. The Afghan militants used this as an excuse to try to capture the three forts in one go, with the Saragarhi fort being the first target. Officer Ishar Singh led a platoon of 21 Sikhs to fight against more than 10,000 Afghan invaders, fiercely battling and successfully delaying their advance, thereby thwarting the Afghan plan to seize all three forts. However, all 21 brave warriors perished heroically. This event is regarded as one of the greatest last stands in history.
