In Hong Kong at the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1960s, police and gangsters collaborated, creating a chaotic and corrupt environment. Among them, Kowloon Walled City was a notorious place where danger lurked at every corner. A young man with no ambition, A-Hao (played by Lau Ching-Wan) and A-Lok (played by Anthony Wong), inadvertently find themselves caught up in this chaos and become infatuated with the lawless atmosphere. They team up to gamble and cheat money, attracting the attention of the bookmakers who pursue them, and are saved by the local triad boss Fat Bao, which changes their fates. A-Hao becomes a disciple of Fat Bao and falls in love with Fat Bao’s bold sister-in-law, Ying (played by Poon Chan Leung); he is fearless and remarkable. Meanwhile, A-Lok becomes a policeman and marries a girl named Fei Fei (played by Athena Chu), who had a past with A-Hao. To provide a comfortable life for his vain wife, he chooses to indulge in corruption. Two good brothers on opposite sides of the law strive to build a world of their own…
