The series is a remake of the British series of the same name from 50 years ago (the original series was adapted from a novel and has up to 15 derivative films). In the remake, the suave international thief Simon Templar (Adam Rayner) considers himself the "modern Robin Hood"—he specializes in stealing from wealthy criminals and always manages to escape the pursuit of law enforcement. As a master of disguise, martial arts, espionage, and various weapons with exceptional rhetoric skills, this British gentleman is recruited by a government agency for a secret mission, but the local law enforcement agencies loathe him.
