The founder of Wing Chun, Yim Wing Chun (played by Bai Jing), and her father, who was once a secular disciple of Shaolin, relocate from Guangdong to the Dabie Mountains in Sichuan due to false accusations, making a living by running a tofu restaurant. Yim Wing Chun is lively and combative, often using the martial arts taught by her father to play fights in the streets. One day, the son of the Liang family, Leung Bo Chao (played by Yu Shaoqun), a family friend of her father, comes to Sichuan to meet Yim Wing Chun on elder's orders. He unexpectedly witnesses Yim Wing Chun in a "violent act" and, being skilled in martial arts himself, is greatly shocked and escapes in a hurry. From then on, Yim Wing Chun diligently studies to portray a ladylike demeanor, which ironically attracts trouble from local ruffians. In her moment of need, Sister Wu Mei (played by Hui Yinghong), a wandering Shaolin master, takes her as a disciple and teaches her a set of skills that help her defeat the ruffians. Leung Bo Chao and his parents visit the Yim family again, and the two young people grow closer through martial arts sparring. Meanwhile, Jin Ying (played by Zou Zhaolong), a traitor of Shaolin, leads the Qing dynasty's enforcers in search of Sister Wu Mei and other Shaolin disciples, and the previously peaceful town in the Dabie Mountains is about to face a series of fierce battles...
