At the beginning of the 20th century, the international situation was changing rapidly, and ancient China was in a critical moment of life and death. Far away in Foshan, Guangdong, young Ip Man and his adoptive brother Tin Chi began learning Wing Chun under the famous master Chen Huashun (played by Sammo Hung). Ip Man was intelligent and extraordinarily gifted, quickly rising among his fellow disciples over the course of ten years. When he grew up, Ip Man (played by Du Yuhang) bid farewell to his childhood friend Tin Chi (played by Fan Shaohuang) and his junior sister Mei Hui (played by Chen Jiahua) to study in Hong Kong.
