In China, Dr. Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) makes a deal with the gang leader in Shanghai, who betrays him after receiving the ashes of Nurhaci and attempts to silence Jones. At a critical moment, the clever little boy Short Round (Jonathan Ke Quan) saves Dr. Jones and a singer named Willie (Kate Capshaw), who got involved for no reason. Due to the crash of the plane the three were on, they jump out and, after floating on a rubber boat, they end up in a village in India. The river here has dried up, the crops are destroyed, famine prevails, and the people are suffering. The locals blame the calamity on the demons of the Pankot Palace and view Jones and his companions, who "descended from the sky," as incarnations of gods; they ask Jones to help them retrieve the stolen sacred stone and all the children. The palace is indeed filled with bizarre occurrences, ruled by a childish tyrant, where the nobles eat leeches, giant pythons, beetles, and monkey brains. The palace itself is riddled with traps, and by accident, they witness a bloody cult sacrifice... This battle is destined to be extraordinarily difficult!
