The uncle at the pawn shop (played by Won Bin), living next door to the little girl Xiaomi (played by Kim Sae-ron), keeps to himself and does not interact with the neighbors aside from business. His disheveled appearance and silent personality lead people to suspect his true identity. The innocent Xiaomi pays no attention to these rumors and often visits this mysterious neighbor, slowly allowing them to become friends. Xiaomi’s mother gets involved in a gang’s drug heist, which ultimately puts both herself and Xiaomi in danger. Witnessing the kidnapping of Xiaomi and her mother, the pawn shop uncle begins to fight against the gang to save them. Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the case, and the true identity of the pawn shop uncle, Won Tae-seok, gradually comes to light. The body of Xiaomi’s mother, with all her valuable organs removed, is found in the trunk of a car; however, Xiaomi, who went missing along with her, remains unaccounted for... The film, featuring Kim Sae-ron as "Maki," who also starred in "The Traveler," alongside the disheveled "flower boy" Won Bin, became the highest-grossing film in Korea in 2010.
