Creasy (Denzel Washington) was once a heartless special forces soldier, but after retiring, he is often awakened by nightmares of his killings. Unable to endure the pain, he turns to alcohol to numb his nerves. Concerned friends suggest he take a job as a private bodyguard in Mexico. Mexico City has a high crime rate with frequent kidnappings, and anyone can be abducted, regardless of whether they have money. Creasy protects a millionaire's daughter, Pita (Dakota Fanning). Ten-year-old Pita is lively and adorable, quickly winning over Creasy's heart and becoming an angel in his life. However, the good times are short-lived as Pita is kidnapped and murdered!
