The film is adapted from the novel of the same name and tells the story of a pilot, played by Cage, who encounters mysterious weather at 10,000 meters while flying a plane, while hundreds of millions of people mysteriously disappear on Earth. Cage must make an emergency landing with the damaged plane, while on the ground his daughter is searching for her missing mother and brother.
