In 19th century Java, a brutal massacre and the murder of Sultan Hamza (Tio Pakusadewo) - the brother and infant sons of the Sultan - by Captain Van Trach (Reinout Bussemaker) and his Dutch soldiers forces Arana (Tio Pakusadewo), Jamar (Ario Bayu), and Suwo (Yoshi Sudarso) to flee the country, taking them to the wild west of America. After working on the railroad and learning the cowboy way of life, Arana tells the boys it's time to return home and avenge their father's death. The hunt for their father's killers begins as they return to the lands of Indonesia. Along the way, they meet some villagers, including Kiona (Pevita Pearce), the beautiful daughter of Suwo's fallen rebel leader, who soon finds out that the cunning Van Trach still rules the area. Their presence puts the village in danger, quickly turning their quest for revenge into a fight for freedom. Arana, Jamar, and Suwo utilize the skills they learned in the American wilderness to confront Van Trach and his army for a final showdown of justice.
