The ultra-efficient transporter Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is currently tasked with transporting the son of drug enforcement officer Mr. Billings, young Jack. Frank has a harmonious relationship with Jack and his mother, but the sudden appearance of a group of criminals disrupts the peace. Frank first encounters them at the hospital and manages to escape, but to ensure Jack's safety, he is forced to hand the child over to the kidnappers, resulting in him being identified as a kidnapping suspect by the police. Frank discovers that this kidnapping has deeper implications; the drug cartel behind the incident intends to use young Jack to spread a lethal virus to high-ranking officials from various countries attending an international conference on drug enforcement, clearing obstacles for their criminal activities. Frank must uphold the trust of Jack's mother, Audrey, as he closes in on the mastermind, Gianni (Alessandro Gassman), amid the pursuit from both the police and the drug cartel, engaging in intense battles both above and below water with the formidable Gianni.
