Ali and Amina studied veterinary medicine in university and, filled with aspirations for life, began their new jobs at Tianshan Horse Farm. Here, Amina meets her former classmate from vocational school, Kader. Kader loves the grassland and his work, wholeheartedly serving the herdsmen, caring for the health of the horses, and learning from the community. He diligently studies his skills. The herdsmen affectionately call him "a mountain eagle of our region." Amina dismisses Kader's efforts, believing that his constant busyness lacks lofty ideals, while she thinks her theoretical research represents a great career. However, when a mare faces a difficult birth and the foal's life is at stake, she finds herself helpless. Ali is self-serving, seeking fame, arrogant, and looks down on the community and Kader. When tasked with performing surgery on a sick horse, he backs out at the last minute out of fear that a failure would negatively affect his reputation. Kader views Ali's attitude as irresponsible and resolutely decides to save the sick horse himself. Ultimately, the surgery fails, leaving Kader heartbroken. Old herdsman Kasegbek encourages Kader, saying: "What's failure? In our Kazakh, there's a saying, the wings of a mountain eagle are earned through flight. Young man, keep working hard; the elder trusts you!" Ali, however, is complacent, mocking Kader for being reckless. Later, Kader persists in trying again and finally succeeds with the surgery. Ali, eager for fame, impulsively proposes to eradicate a certain disease, requesting the leadership's approval to explore new natural pastures. During the pasture exploration, he more or less just takes a cursory glance and returns in a short time. Thus, without conducting thorough investigations and being unwilling to heed community opinions, he incorrectly designates the changeable climate of the Black Mountain area, unfit for grazing, as an ideal pasture, and rashly relocates the horse herd there. Soon, Black Mountain becomes the epicenter of a spring snowstorm, leading to severe cases of abortion among the mares. Kader, with the leader's consent, bravely rushes into the storm to rescue the situation and avoid a major disaster. Reality educates Amina, making her realize that scientific research must be combined with production practice, and great achievements arise from practice. She resolves to learn from Kader. Under guidance from leadership and help from the community, Ali recognizes the seriousness of his errors. He deeply reflects on the significant losses caused by his subjective arrogance and pursuit of personal fame, and requests punishment from his leaders. Leaders and comrades provide serious criticism and support for his mistakes, guiding him onto the right path.
