Anton is a high school history teacher. Now over fifty, he gradually realizes that he is becoming increasingly insensitive to the sounds around him, to the point where he can hardly hear his lover's responses or his colleagues' words. To cover up his hearing impairment, he chooses to retreat into his own world, ignoring everything outside, finishing his lessons and returning home to blast the music at full volume. However, this behavior also worsens his students' dissatisfaction and results in misunderstandings with his colleagues due to his partial hearing. Encouraged by a friend, Anton wears hearing aids, but while the issue of not hearing is resolved, the suddenly overwhelming clarity of sounds becomes a new problem for him. The bustling streets, the patter of rain, and even the sound of a colleague munching on potato chips can send him into a meltdown in an instant. As Anton faces crises in his love life, work, and interpersonal relationships, he unexpectedly meets a little girl named Violette who lives in the same building. Due to traumatic experiences, Violette has stopped speaking. Thus, an uncle who cannot hear the outside world and a little girl who cannot express herself become the best of friends, truly understanding each other's feelings. Meanwhile, Violette's mother is subtly drawn to this man who seems to be constantly speaking to her in a different language...
