The story takes place in an era with highly advanced computer technology, where a scientist invents a killing program to assist the police in solving cases, which compiles data from hundreds of serial killers and their methods. This program is so evil that it not only generates personal will but also gains a human appearance and the special ability to repair any damage at any time. It escapes from confinement and wreaks havoc in the world. In order to capture this evil "killer," the police design a tracking device, and the criminal Parker (played by Denzel Washington) is chosen to be the test subject for the device. Parker was once a police officer but was dismissed from duty and imprisoned for using extrajudicial punishment to kill the murderer who destroyed his family. What troubles Parker is that the killer who murdered his family is also present in the killing program.
