Dr. Bill Cortney is a successful scientist with a beautiful fiancée named Jan Compton. In a serious car accident, Bill's fiancée is decapitated. Upon hearing the news, Dr. Bill brings Jan's head back to the lab, relying on a liquid to sustain her life. Dr. Bill, in a bid to resurrect his fiancée, develops sinister thoughts; he plans to kill a woman to graft her body onto his fiancée's head. Jan, in a limbo between life and death, feels she should be dead but resents Bill for putting her in this state. Through telepathy, she summons a mutated monster that was previously locked in the lab, which kills the doctor's assistant. The doctor has found his target and uses a drug to bring a woman back to the lab, but Jan opposes this. The monster breaks out of the locked room, a failed product of the doctor's numerous experiments. Standing at 7 feet tall, the monster ultimately kills the doctor, and the lab is consumed by fire, while the monster escapes with the woman, and Jan is reduced to ashes along with the lab.
